The Carl Sandburg house

We packed a picnic and headed out today for Flat Rock, NC. It was extrememly hot and humid, but the scenery was beautiful and the goat milk fudge was yummy.

We saw a half hour (in the sweltering sun)long Broadway style

performance of Mr. Sandburg's Rootabaga stories set to his music.

Mrs. Sandburg raised goats and the children enjoyed petting them.

A vineyard we drove through on the way home.
